Volume control has no effect to any M3U8 stream. It happens in Samples.WP8 too. Can you help me with this issue?

How are you changing the volume?

From device volume buttons.

It works great from device volume buttons in my app. I think it's automatically managed by system media transport controls. Can you try enabling the system media transport controls ?
SystemMediaTransportControls.GetForCurrentView().IsEnabled = true;

SystemMediaTransportControls is available only for Windows Phone 8.1. I'm using Windows Phone 8 and the background player.

Huh... Just to be clear, you are talking about the overall output volume of the device? You are not talking about the MediaElement.Volume property?

What kind of device are you using for testing? What version of the Windows Phone firmware is it running? Which version of phonesm are you using?

I'm talking about the overall output.

I'm using Nokia Lumia 925 with Windows Phone 8 GDDR3. I modified an old version of the framework and it's not from my modifications because I tested with the background sample from the latest version and I have the same problem.

Do the volume buttons do work with other programs? It isn't the Nokia button problem?

Yes! I also tested on a Nokia Lumia 520 with GDDR3 and for M3U8 it doesn't work. For MP3s, AAC and AAC+ it work very well but when it starts to play a M3U8 audio the volume can't be changed until the next song. I can make a video and provide you the log if it helps.

I just tried playing the Apple "bipbop" sample. Both a Lumia 920 running the 8.1 developer preview and the emulator running 8.0 Update 3 can control the volume with the volume buttons (well, F9 and F10 for the emulator).

Is there a particular stream where you are seeing this or is it happening for all streams?
